My Dota 2 Betting Life and Trading
I'm 20 this year, Betting, of cause is a bad habit, but an exciting things to do because no people know what will happen in the future.
I will start my Story here
When Dota 2 just came out, i don't bet, because i think that betting is a stupid action because most people say if you bet 10 time, the chance for you to lose is 9/10, its like only 10% chance to win.
How i get into betting then?
After months of trading in Dota 2, it is really excited as i can earn around $5-10 daily, it is a good day tho. At first, i invest around $100, but my backpack eventually have value around $300-500. That's a really good thing i think. Time by time, the economy of Dota 2 Start crashing due to the 3 spirit update, and duping of certain items.
The rate of Item is shown below( Head of 2013)

It is really easy to earn money that time as even i'm just a student, i can manage to earn my meals by just trading.
But after few patches, the rate of key to rare is 1:20-40.
Imagine, rare is not rare anymore, even mythical turn into just some normal item.
Therefore, i can't even earn few bucks daily. So, this is where i started to bet.
I throw my common and uncommon. As that time there's no value bet, ration of common pay rate is like 1:2 , 2:4.
No value betting was introduce that time.
So yeah, it was interesting as uncommon and common won't matter much even you lose if you have quite some item.
And then, i start to feel greed and bet rare, mythical, nothing happen that time.
So, i started key betting. It din't went really well, as you can see, i like to yolo, and 10 match, I YOLO all game and lose all. So i quit betting right after the 10th game, and the 11th,12th game low% team won. I fed up and quit betting.
Months Later.
Until The Value betting is introduce.
The first time i bet is shown below.
As you can see, VG vs Dk, i YOLOED and win quite some value, that time, i started to think that betting is really a good way to earn money off. As you can see, 1 Game, around $60 value per game. That was like $60/5 = 12 days of trading, but i just dump my item into it.
Time by time, i bet more and more big.
See the winnings? By just throwing item and win, easily, that was my thought tho.
And i don't trust what people say, 9/10 chance of losing, but i manage to win 9/10.
This is all the winnings, the rate of losing for me in value bet is 1/10, yea in fact is 1/10, but even you win the front part, lets look at the back part.
After the wins, here the losses, most of game was lost. So i went bigger because i wanted to win back what i lose. Look below.
See? What happened? I have no idea but yeah, what i win time by time, i lose just in a row of losing game. Its really a 9/10 chance of losing. I lost everything tho.
So in february, The Dac started, i start with 3 lina arcana and 30 value.
First day i end up with 6 lina arcana, 1 Fire Talon, 2 Legion, and 1 TB.
On the second day, i loss everything and now i only left with 2 TB Arcana.
And i even yoloed but lucky win and im back with 2 TB arcana.
What i can say is the rules of betting
- Bet Smart
- Bet Safe
- Never Yolo on all games but maybe games which have some chance.
- Bet small
- Don't bet and Dont Ever Ever think to win back what you have lose
To Win in Betting, is Not To Bet.
But i don't trust this sentence tho, so i m still betting tho, but safe bet :)
I Loses around $600 in dota2lounge betting, so we must really bet safe.
